The Art of Elemental Touch: Couples' Thai Massage Workshop

Join Marisa Incelli in learning The Art of Elemental Touch!

Discover your partner’s elemental touch language.

We are composed of five elements: earth, water, fire, wind and ether.

It is the balance of these elements which enables us to have a sense of physical and emotional wellbeing and it is the imbalance of one or more of them that creates discomfort, disease and emotional instability.

As a Thai medicine and massage therapist, Marisa is trained in this five element healing theory which in turn is translated into how to touch the body elementally.

This workshop is an opportunity to understand this beautiful elemental lens with which to see through to create a new language for how the body and mind feel. Explore this lens with your partner in a guided workshop of partner elemental touch.

What does it mean to use an earth touch, water touch, fire and wind touch? How do you know what you need, what will bring back to balance that which is out of balance within you, within your partner?

Come with curiosity, leave with a new language of touch with which to communicate.

About Marisa:

Marisa went to art school to become a printmaker, studied classical ballet and then came to yoga and Thai bodywork after scoliosis and kyphosis in her thoracic spine made it necessary to find a form of physical therapy beyond dance. Discovering the various styles of yoga was a personal pursuit then and now, opting for fusion of systems over just one. It wasn't until 15 years into her own yoga journey after being asked to teach did she think about sharing her experiences and education.

Only then did she discover the modality of Thai Bodywork in an advanced training and experienced the radical healing effect it has on both spirit and physical body. Her path has become even more focused on healing with Thai medicine beginning with the teachings of Gwyn Williams, Zen Thai Shiatsu, and continuing to full certification under Sebastian Bruno of Thai Vedic, to Mukti Michael Buck and the Vedic Conservatory. Thai medicine uses not only the modality of physical manipulation but it is based in Ayurvedic medicine, and 5 element therapy with Buddhism at its spiritual heart.

The culmination of her fine art background, physical asana practice, Thai Bodywork, professional cooking, and energetic healing work has compelled her to integrate these disciplines in service to helping one person at a time release their stories, release their trauma and find Samadhi.
