Join us in welcoming Deborah Bettega to Zem!
We are excited to offer you this opportunity to broaden your practice and discover renewed inspiration in your yoga journey with a weekend of arm balancing, inversions, backbending, kirtan and satsang.
Arm Balances & Inversions Masterclass, Saturday, December 6th, 2-4 PM
A dynamic, continuous practice designed to build confidence and control in arm balances and inversions. Over two hours, we’ll move through a flowing sequence that strengthens the core, shoulders, and wrists, while refining the alignment and technique behind key balancing postures. Partner exercises will help you understand balance, weight distribution, and how subtle adjustments can make upside-down shapes feel lighter and more accessible. The focus is on practice through experience — finding stability, awareness, and ease in flight. Open to all levels — no need to already be a pro on balancing on your hands. Just bring curiosity, playfulness, and an open heart.
Backbending, Sunday, December 7th, 2-4 PM
This class explores backbending as a full-body practice of strength, openness, and precision. Through a progressive sequence, we’ll prepare the spine, shoulders, and hips, then move into deeper backbends using techniques that make the practice more accessible and sustainable. You’ll learn how small changes in engagement and alignment can transform your experience of backbending, allowing more space with less strain. Expect a steady, continuous flow — technical but enjoyable, aimed at discovering comfort and clarity in every shape. Open to all levels — no need for extreme flexibility or advanced poses. Come as you are: with curiosity, patience and an open heart.
Kirtan & Satsang: Strengthening Our Roots, Sunday, December 7th, 8-9 PM
Yoga on the mat is a joyful adventure — a place to build strength, focus, and dedication. Yet the path of yoga extends beyond the body, it asks us to nurture the roots beneath the surface: devotion, presence, and a sense of community. Even the strongest roots don’t grow in isolation. In a forest, trees communicate through their roots, sharing nutrients and support, sustaining one another through all seasons. Our Satsang — our spiritual community — works in the same way. We come together to practice, to breathe, to sing, to learn, and to remember why we chose this path of light. We reconnect with what brought us here and support one another in staying grounded and inspired along the way. Join us for an evening of Kirtan & Satsang, a space to nourish these shared roots through mantra, philosophy, presence, and community. No experience is needed — just an open heart and a willingness to be part of it.
About Deborah: I’m Deborah, though everyone calls me Debo. Originally from Italy, I’ve been living in Germany for the past 11 years. I’ve been teaching yoga full-time for 8 years, and my practice is the foundation of my life. Yoga, for me, is far beyond asana — it is a way of living ahiṁsā paramo dharma, a śloka from the Mahābhārata that has become a guiding principle in my path. My practice and teachings are rooted in Bhakti, in philosophy, and in alignment. I have over 1300 hours of teacher training in different styles, and I continue to deepen my journey as a dedicated student of Vinay Kumar in India. I teach with devotion and an open heart, inspired by the belief that yoga is not something we do, but something we become, day after day, practice after practice. Through regular practice, humility and devotion we can cultivate a rooted strength, a stability that help us meet life on and off the mat, with grace, patience and peace of mind.
